Summer Student JOBS!
Each year, the Glengarry Pioneer Museum hires a small team of college, university, or mature high school students to help with museum operations from May to September. The museum offers quality work experience for youth to build their resumes and have fun in the community at the same time.
2026 Positions:
Events & Administrative Assistant
Collections & Research Assistant
Duration: Between 8 and 16 weeks, depending on position and funding approval received in March.
Start Dates: Mid-May or late June, depending on position.
Wage: $18.60
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and at least a year, or more, of post-secondary education, preferred;
- Interest in History, Social Sciences, Museum Studies, Education, Tourism, Photography, Public Relations, or Business, preferred;
- Written and oral fluency in English;
- Written and oral proficiency in French, preferred;
- Strong interpersonal communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work in group environments and possess strong team player attributes.
- Physically able to lift and handle different types of artifacts and displays;
- Ability to accept and learn from feedback;
- Demonstrated initiative and responsibility;
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and social platforms;
- Commitment to learning and following a work plan;
- Will have been a registered full time student in the year leading up to this date, and will be returning to full time studies upon completion of this job.
