From the Dunvegan War of 1812 Planning Committee:
All participants must adhere to the rule: be period appropriate. Please wear clothing that was worn during the 1812-1814 period in Upper Canada. No modern camping is permitted on site.
General Information:
- Bring your own food and beverage, as the vendors will only be open during the day.
- There will be a potluck Saturday night for all re-enactors, Museum staff and members of various related committees will be attending and contributing. Please remember that you must provide food that will accommodate 5-6 people minimum.This community is 150% behind us! Come out and meet them!
- There will be some baked goodies, coffee, tea and juice available Saturday and Sunday at the Orange Lodge.
- Water is available for cooking and cleaning, however you may want to provide your own drinking water.
- Firewood will be available. Please use the hardwood for cooking fires only and use the other wood for camp fires.
- There will be a fashion show, and you’re all encouraged to participate.
- There will be a parade to the local church on Sunday morning. They are eager to welcome us again this year.
- Cassel Brewery will again be animating the Star Inn on both Saturday and Sunday.
- There will be a sale and swap on Sunday for the re-enactors. Bring stuff that you no longer need and buy or swap for stuff that you want.
- In past years camp sites were first come first served. This year, due to the presence of the new pavilion and an increase in attendance we will be designating unit campsites.

PLEASE NOTE: The Museum site will be available for Camp set-up as early as Wednesday September 18, 2019 for planning of the Education Day. Before setting up your camp, please contact Jim Mullin, 1812@glengarrypioneermuseum before placement.
Friday September 20 – EDUCATION DAY with local schools
- Please notify Jim Mullin if you are interested in leading a station. If participating in Education Day, you must arrive sometime on Thursday.
- For those participating on Saturday and Sunday only, are encouraged to arrive, register and set up after the Education activities end at 3:30. If desired, other arrangements can be made through the staff at the Glengarry Pioneer Museum.
- Water and wood will be provided for the weekend.
