Must be 18 or older to purchase a ticket and/or win a prize.
One ticket per square.
Ticket holder need not be present to win.
Ticket holder is responsible for all associated fees/taxes.
Spectators/ticket holders must not interfere with the progress of the event.
No tickets will be sold after the animal enters the enclosure and the event begins.
To protect the cow from ingesting painted grass, the “Cow Pie” grid will be virtual. Each side of the enclosed area will display a ‘ruler’ with 15 equal segments. Two opposing rulers will have alphabetic designations (A – O) and the other two will have 15 numeric designations (1 – 15). By using these marks, the enclosed area can be divided into 225 squares of equal size… with each one having an alpha-numeric identifier, e.g., “A12” or “G7”. Using a master grid plan (see attached), each square has been assigned a number from 1 to 225, corresponding to the ticket numbers.
Two separate “draws” will be held: one around 12 noon and the other around 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 11, 2022. For each one, a bovine (cow, heifer or calf) will be led into the enclosure and set free. It will be allowed to roam inside the fenced area until a cow pie is “deposited” on the grid or the time allotment of 45 minutes has expired… whichever comes first.
NOTE: To be considered a “cow pie” for the purposes of this raffle, the bovine deposit must be a minimum of 3” in diameter to qualify.
To determine the winning ticket number, officials (who are not allowed to participate in the raffle) will determine the alpha-numeric location of the cow pie by using cords stretched between the two ‘alpha’ rulers and the two ‘numberic’ rulers. From this, officials will consult the master list and declare the winning ticket number.
In the event that the cow deposit lands on multiple squares, the officials will determine which square has the largest portion of the pie and declare the winning number.
If a cow pie meeting the minimum requirement has NOT been deposited in the allotted time, the 50/50 winner will be determined by a draw using a smartphone-based random number generator.
One half of the ticket sales for each draw (less expenses) will be awarded to the winning ticket holders as the 50/50 prize and ½ will go to the Glengarry Pioneer Museum. If the first eligible cow pie lands on an unsold square, the winner will be chosen using a smartphone-based random-number draw.
Any disputes or claims must be registered with the judges.
The results or decision of the judges will be publicly posted.
